Our scheme for a former warehouse building sees a series of challenging linear spaces transformed into productive working and break-out environments.
WORKPLACE / INTERIOR / START-UP
This refurbishment project saw an old warehouse building in south London transformed into vibrant office space for a rapidly expanding technology company. The period building is shared with other start-up companies, so part of the brief was to create a unique environment within a larger site, which created an aesthetic and acoustic separation.
By reconfiguring a series of challenging linear spaces on the ground floor, we formed a range of flexible working, meeting and breakout spaces, specifically designed to enable collaboration and facilitate “flow”. We developed a spatial strategy which offered different teams the environments they found most productive, with breakout spaces acting as buffer zones between active and quiet spaces through the plan. A series of utilitarian but refined bespoke joinery items made the limited space (and budget) available work hard and create a surprisingly spacious working environment.
