Projects Office shortlisted in Turner Contemporary’s Ramsgate public art competition
Our entry into the Turner Contemporary gallery’s Pioneering Places competition has been shortlisted by the most critical of critics: a panel of local children.
The brief asked for proposals for a public artwork for Ramsgate Harbour. Having honed their design and peacemaking skills over several years working on various projects in and around Ramsgate, the panel of 8 and 9 year olds selected our design into a shortlist of their three favourites.
Our proposal, a whimsical on-shore wind farm, is designed to celebrate the weather, reference Ramsgate’s nautical heritage, and offer shelter from the storm. The design would be developed with the children to choose colours and patterns, test and refine windmill forms and select the most appropriate, windiest site in the harbour.
We’ll be presenting our proposals to the judging panel in a few weeks.
