An outpatient child and adolescent mental health unit that sees a continuation of the design approach developed for Edinburgh’s new children’s hospital.
Project detailsFollowing our commission to design the interiors for the CAMHS unit at Edinburgh’s new Royal Hospital for Children and Young People, we were invited to design the key spaces and wall illustrations for another unit in South Edinburgh.
As some young people may use services at both CAMHS units, it was important to us to create a consistent feel and aesthetic across both sites. By using similar colours, designing furniture with a shared language, and extending the ‘coastal’ narrative developed through user engagement, we’re creating a comfortable, inviting, and familiar environment which we hope will help young patients feel relaxed and safe.
