A terrazzo worktop and bespoke steelwork create a unique interior for a new artisan coffee shop

Project details

A true coffee connoisseur, the client for this new coffee shop in central London briefed us to create a unique and contemporary interior which would stand out in London’s busy cafe scene.

Designed around the movements of the baristas’ processes on one side of the counter and the rapid movements of London’s coffee addicts on the other, the cafe is arranged to happily accommodate both rushed morning queues and relaxed afternoon conversations.

The specialist coffee machine, bespoke terrazzo counter and steel shelving make an impact in a relatively small floor area, while the feature light fitting emphasises the cafe’s generous ceiling height. A restrained material palette and carefully considered lighting creates a quietly elegant space which directs attention towards the main attraction: the coffee.
